In 2024, I hiked from Georgia to Maine.
I’ve wanted to hike the Appalachian Trail ever since my New York City days. It seemed an impossible goal then—a fun idea to imagine in my free time, but surely not something I could actually do. I didn’t tell anyone. Fast forward about seven years and many Big Life Changes, and there I was taking my very first northbound steps through the arch at Amicalola Falls.
I candidly wrote about and photographed my experiences on the trail for The Trek. The platform celebrates the long-distance backpacking community and provides invaluable gear reviews while highlighting the accounts of people taking on the country’s long trails. In my medium and longform blogs, I share stories ranging from the time a tree nearly fell on me to what it’s like to have a period in the backcountry. I document my experiences with the people I met on trail and those “magic in the in-between” moments that make thru-hiking (and any outdoor pursuit) so meaningful.
My published works garnered thousands of pageviews and continue to receive positive engagement. In 2024, The Trek named me an Appalachian Trail Trek Blogger to Follow, and sought my contributions along the journey. In 2025, I connected my steps through the foothills of Southern Appalachia by hiking the Pinhoti Trail through Alabama and Georgia.
