I’m Mo, a writer by day—and sometimes by night, too. I'm a curious gal with too many hobbies just trying to make the most of my (hopefully) 4,000 weeks on Earth and experience them with strangers and loved ones along the way. My deep love for learning probably comes from my teacher-parents. It leads to a lot of questions and unexpected research holes, but this curiosity ultimately informs my versatile and compassionate writing approach.
I’ve tackled a bunch of projects with words over the past eight years: Live tweeting from Lincoln Center galas; producing digital content for New York Public Radio’s WQXR; and developing videos for Google, Android, Coursera, the University of Michigan, and other organizations. I’m a generalist with extensive experience in tech marketing up and down the funnel and throughout the creative process—take a gander at some of my favorite projects here.
Most recently, I served as Kalderos’ copywriter, leading copy development for healthtech product launches, researching and writing thought leadership pieces, and converting product and technical specifications into easy-to-digest content for a variety of audiences. My team’s work on Kalderos’ 2023 Annual Report earned Business Intelligence Group’s 2023 Public Relations & Marketing Excellence Award for External Campaign of the Year. Give me something complex and/or arduous and/or all-consuming, and I’ll find a way to distill it into its simplest parts. We’ll have some fun in the process, too.
Alongside my writing, I’ve also directed and produced a number of short films. My award-winning documentaries have screened in the U.S. and internationally, appearing on The New Yorker and Short of the Week. This work has also been recognized by The Webby Awards, Edmonton International Film Festival, High Line Nine, and Oregon Documentary Film Festival, among others.
In 2024, I thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail and published my firsthand experiences on popular long-distance backpacking platform The Trek during my 2,197.4 mile journey. More on that here.
I’m based in northern Michigan, but enjoy hiking in Colorado’s mountains and dancing around at concerts in Brooklyn. Reach me at wynne.mrae@gmail.com. ︎
